Esco Optics reaches new milestone with the approval of manufacturing plant expansion plans

Esco Optics new office and manufacturing facility...

The fire that erupted through Esco’s production facility in August of 2014 was just a minor speed bump in Esco’s 60+ year history. In a quick rebound from the fire, administrative services and production were relocated to our 1 Tidland Road facility in Oak Ridge, New Jersey to maintain production. In October, Esco signed a letter for a new building, yet zoning issues, construction permits and other permits hindered the process. The hope to purchase a larger building, as well as, the option to add additional space to the new facility was a slow and tedious process, however, approval was finally granted for our new building.

The permits for an expansion have been approved and work has begun.

Esco will be moving to our 15,000 square foot modern facility at 95 Chamberlain Rd, Oak Ridge, NJ by the Spring of 2017. The current plan is to expand the interior and add 10,000 square feet to the second floor for a total of 25,000 square feet.

The addition of new equipment coupled with machines we have salvaged and rebuilt from the fire has doubled our manufacturing capability and capacity. Esco has also added 9 new machines to strengthen our plano polishing capabilities. A major portion of this equipment is up and running in production at our satellite facility and will remain in service there until the modifications to new building are completed. Esco employees are excited to have a new, large facility to move into and continue to produce quality optical products.
