Going Deep for Charity

The Western New York Optics Golf Tournament once again proved that a day on the course can make a lasting impact both on and off the green. Bringing together customers, partners, vendors, and friends across the optics landscape, the annual event combined friendly competition with a shared commitment to giving back. 

Each year, ESCO raises the bar for the tournament's watering hole challenge, and this year was no exception. Trading ordinary for unforgettable, we introduced a hilarious, oversized pants game that had golfers laughing from the first swing. The objective was simple: chip your golf ball to your partner wearing giant oversized pants and trying to make the catch. It sounded easy enough, but once players stepped up to the ball, they quickly discovered it was much more challenging and entertaining than expected. 

This quickly became one of the tournament's most talked-about attractions, drawing enthusiastic participants and plenty of spectators. Competition was fierce, athleticism questionable, but the game delivered smiles, cheers, and memorable moments throughout the day. 

Events like the WNY Charity Golf Tournament showcase the power of the optics community. Beyond the scores, raffles, and camaraderie, the tournament serves a greater purpose by raising funds to support U of R Golisano Children’s Hospital in Rochester while strengthening the relationships that make our industry so successful.
