Esco Optics Continues to Invest in Advanced Metrology

Esco Optics is a leading supplier of custom optical components. The fabrication of custom windows, mirrors, lenses and complex shapes is achieved using our OptiPro OptiSonic 4 axis CNC platform. The increased level of precision and accuracy required to satisfy customer’s specifications is improved and assured by using our newly acquired Zeiss O-Inspect 322 Multisensor Measuring Machine.

The OI-322 comes standard with contact sensors and also includes ZEISS scanning. The optical and contact sensors are integrated, and the CALYPSO 3D CAD software merges the measurement data, thus ensuring trust in the reliability of the measuring results. The OI-322 also provides scanning as a standard feature, in which the VAST XXT probe enables precision probing forces in the millinewton range. Therefore, real 3D measurements of form and position tolerancing are possible.

The system is equiped with the telecentric Discovery zoom lens from microscopy and adds 12x zoom range. Outstanding image quality is guaranteed by the lens and the adaptive illumination system which provides transmitted light as well as several reflected lights at different angles.
