Esco Optics SPIE OptiFab 2019

SPIE OptiFab 2019 at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center was packed end-to-end with machines, vendors and every optical manufacturing eye candy you can think of. Yet, there was one company that stood out from the rest...Esco Optics. Our team was thrilled to showcase their passion and spirit in our new Speakeasy-themed booth. Vintage phoropter
As visitors pulled up a stool they were greeted by Esco team members period attire ready to take orders. On display were unique optics and artifacts from the era – a 1920s Bausch & Lomb microscope, an opthalmologists phoropter by American Optical, a 1930’s Kodak projector and an engaging mutoscope playing highlights from prohibition era with an Esco twist.  Who knew Joelle Brunetto could play a saxophone!?

Attendees shared laughs and smiles as while they learned from our Esco North team about capabilities, conversing with both sales and operations staff.  Our new Rochester office was implemented to enhance customer relations and provide additional account support to both the Rochester and Canada regions. Ron Schulmerich was Ron Schulmerich, Joelle Brunetto, Esco Opticshis jovial self and connected with old friends and acquaintances, while Mike Vergo worked with customers on upcoming projects. John Escolas, Chief Operating Officer was happy to report on our shop improvements. We have made great strides this year in our lens department, by continuing to improve precision aspherical lenses in both production runs and prototype fabrication. Additionally, we have enhanced our coating capabilities which have been optimized for efficiency and repeatability; we can now provide turnarounds under one week for coated optics. On the marketing front, our Director of Marketing, Steve Rowe’s execution of the booth has yet again raised the bar throughout the precision optics marketing community with his execution of the booth.

In one of the largest OptiFab conferences of all time, Esco proudly took center stage.  As the page turns to 2020, Esco will celebrate our 65th year and we are in awe of the quality of this show and the direction of the optics industry.
